Questions for Antilop users/graduates

DD just reached the rather annoying stage of wriggling free of the straps and precariously standing-up/attempting yoga poses on the seat.

Looks pretty risky to me and the kitchen floor is not a forgiving one.

  1. Is there a way back from this? Or are my happy relaxed kitchen pottering ways over?

  2. As she's my first, no idea when high-chairs finish and the next thing (whatever that is) comes along and if it's any better

We are space-limited and she's coming up to 15 months old. Advice appreciated.

a booster seat? We are space-limited too - I have the handysitt on a normal dining room chair and I think it will fit DS for some time.

Alas you have to get into the 'sitting on your bottom' repeats. And not leaving her in the high chair unless eating - give her some tupperware to play with on the floor instead.

Ikea do a toddler chair that is nice and high up to the table, and looks OK too. DS still fits into the Antilop (minus tray) at 2.9 though

Our straps for the Antilop are not IKEA ones, but toddler reins, IIRC (although we did not buy them to use as reins). They fit through the holes and we tie them underneath the chair. There is no way my kids can get out of them - and they have all been in the chair until 2 at least.

We had to graduate to reinss too, dd2 (18mths) is a climbing monkey. Ours don't go through the slots but I have wrapped the long straps round the legs so it is firmly attached.

Have to say it's the only drawback on a fab (cheap) high chair!!!
