Which scenario is right?

7 month DD is not eating masses of solids, I tend to offer her breakfast/lunch/dinner an hour after a feed (mostly finger foods as she is not keen on spoonfeeding) sometimes she eats a little sometimes she plays with food.

Yesterday morning I went out and asked DP to give DD her breakfast. For some reason he interpreted that to mean wait 2 hours and then give her some breakfast. Apparently she ate masses but then wasn't hungry for her next milk feed.

So which is the better scenario?

at 7 months her main source of nutrition should still be milk. it's fine if she isn't overly interested in food yet, you should always offer milk and then food anyway, so i would go with what you're currently doing.
at this age food is really for her to learn about eating and textures and tastes and things

That was my thinking, I just wanted someone else to tell me it was ok! Thanks
