BLW: is it normal to have soooo much wind at the beginning?? And my god it smells!

ds3 is 6 months and we have been BLW for about a week and a half. He joins us for one meal a day on average (today it was two, some days none if he is sleeping). Mostly he is eating cucumber, carrots, brocolli, potato, parsnips. He has had a little bread (homemade). I know he is ingesting some as his nappies have changed and I often see food in them.

But what is worrying me is the wind! It is frequent, smelly and loud! He does not seem that bothered by it - as in it is not trapped or anything. But I am wondering if this is a normal part of BLW and does it get better?

My DD (6mths) tried some Garlic bread last night. She loved it and spent ages sucking the garlic butter off the bread!

When I got up to feed her during the night, she was farting like a trooper!

Im guessing that as their tummys are still getting used to having food/juices/flavours in it then its just their way of dealing with it.
For example if you go abroad on holiday, some foods can be very rich, or cooked in certain oils that we might not use at home. This can sometimes affect your tummy and takes a few days to get used to it.
I know my DH gets alot of wind when in foreign countries!

Thanks for that. We haven't tried garlic bread, but mostly thats because ds3 can't handle dairy (so I am off it too for the moment).

I wonder when the wind will start to lessen.

Yep, my little boy is 7 months and we're doing a bit of both but mainly finger foods. He farts for Scotland. We lie in bed and snigger at how loud they are over the landing!
