Can babies have pine nuts?

Am making Moroccan lamb tonight and thought DS could try a bit tomorrow for his tea. But there are some pine nuts in the sauce. Is that allowed? If not, can I just fish them out of his bit, or is it best to just pass the whole thing up for him?

How old is your baby? DD, 21 mths, has them occasionally but they do tend to be whole in her nappy.

My DD (BLW) is 9 months and has pine nuts in an avacado pasta thing I make and she seems to enjoy them.

I would only worry about choking, not about the name "nut".

DD loves them.

6 months - I would have thought they were too small to choke on though. Maybe I'll rake them out though... should have thought before I put them in!
