Hello

Am successfully weaning my 6 1/2 mth twins, they are eating a wide range of my cooking - which i am very proud of!

Am taking it quite slow with Dairy as 1 twin has a poss milk intolerance after a mucousy bloody nappy episode at 4 wks old, is on nutramigen. However has so far tolerated yoghurt and cows milk on cereal??? want to do eggs this week, know i have to cook them well , but what form should i give them - can i do scrambled aggs yet??

1 last question - its taking me an ages to peel and chop everything - have some fruit stores in the freezer but not so much as savoury, can i use tinned fruit in juice - not syrup?? and can i freeze it??? any idead - need to save time somewhere!!

If you want to save time then just give them a bit of what you're having!

Don't see how twin 1 can have milk intolerance if she tolerates milk on cereal.

Eggs can be given in any well cooked form. Scrambled is fine.

Can't see any reason why you can't give tinned fruit if you want to.

A lot of countries tell you to avoid eggs until over a year old. If you have one child with an intolerance/allergy it's probably a good idea to do that. Also, when you do start on eggs, start with yolk only as the whites have a lot more allergens.

HTH.

Thanks for that

they said poss milk intolerance at 4 wks old cos twin 1 was passing mucousy bloody stools, tried her on nutramigen and symptoms cleared up - also did full bloods and stool tests etc at the time - all clear. They did say that as long as i introduced things slowly during weaning she may be fine and may well have outgrown it.

We eat a well balance diet but its quite spicy and my dh is a bit fussy with his meats etc, so want the babies to experience differant tastes etc, that they wouldn't get if just eating what mt Dh eats - mince /chick. Am sure as they get nearer 1 it'll be one pot suits all as i have a 3 yr old too - and majority will just have to rule.

I think I remember doing scramled eggs for my dd. Why can't I remember all this stuff? Would make my life weaning ds so much easier .

The cows milk on cereal thing reassures me. I started ds on that yesterday but he was screaming (in pain?) in the aftrnoon and Mrs Paranoid here assumed it was the milk...... Prob a total coincidence but will try again in a week or 2.....
