Rusks - to give or not give?

DS (7mo) loves rusks - he will often have pear and rusk for breakfast and a couple of times has had one as finger food - of course more ended up on his chair than in him, but that's par for the course, isn't it?

I'm concerned about the sugar content - he has no teeth yet but obv soon will and I don't want him to rely on overly sweet foods, either.

But I like the fact they have some added vits and that they are so easy for travelling about. Also, I add a little bit of rusky water to an avocado and he'll wolf the lot - but he won't touch avocado on its own.

Mmm - am I in danger of yet another rod for my poor back?!!

Organix do soft rusks. They're made with wholegrain and sweetened with grape juice. Also because they're a bit softer they're good for early chewing practise

Yeah - would recommend the organix range for snacks - no sugar. Also, try mixing some pear in with the avocado - sweetens it up a bit and is v tasty and nutritious!

On and someone on here recommended breadsticks as good finger food on the go... I haven't got round to buying any yet but it sounds like a good idea to me
