I've been spoilt by the ease of breastfeeding (once the nips healed and got over public shyness). But now DD is starting weaning I've got to be organised. We're out & about a lot during the day, what to take?

Banana seems easy, avocado ok, rice cakes but DD not very impressed with them (can't blame her cos i wouldn't eat them). What else is good and easy to take out? I'm not in any one school of weaning.

my 7mo loves cucumber sticks (we are blw), how old is your dd?

Seona1973 · 16/01/2009 13:28

fruit pots, yoghurt (if over 6 months), organix snacks, etc

Cucumber, thats a good one. DD is 21 weeks & we're only on to the tiny tastes at the mo, just trying to get prepared.

At this stage just take tubs of fruit puree or lob a jar of something in your bag just in case. Ds2 likes the apple rice cakes rather than the unflavoured ones. Don't forget the bib, spoons and wipes too!

breadsticks, organix snacks, the best one (that you have to do a bit of prep for) is corn on the cob chunks, would keep DS gnawing for 30 mins so I could have a quiet cup of coffee!

I haven't tried my DD on breadsticks yet... I might give them a go
