My dd is 25 weeks old and for the past 14 weeks has began dropping down on the chart. She was born on the 75th cent ( birth weight 8lb 4oz) and is now on the 25th cent and now weighhs 15lb 4oz.

I was adviced to start weaning which i did 4 weeks ago but this has appeared to have made no differnce what so ever. Right nw she is having b/fast and lunch but im gonna introuduce her dinner.

Anyway she is ff and since day one has always been picky with her milk not wanting a lot but up untill 14 weeks ago it hadnt effected her weight gain.

Now she is on solids she has become even more picky and only takes in about 4-5ozs usually 5ozs and has 5 bottles of this a day.

Hv says if its still like it in a months time they will have to look into it.

Can anyone offer advice on what i can do to?

thx

You were very badly advised. Early weaning foods contain far less calories than milk does, so your dd will be filling up on carrots instead of more calorie dense milk, and thus not gaining weight. (This is aside from the fact that early weaning can cause long term health problems).

My advice would be not to introduce dinner, and make sure that the foods that you are giving for the other two meals are high calorie but not too filling (think avocados).
