Millet Porridge?

Anyone got experience of using millet porridge? I've been using it on dd (17 weeks) instead of baby rice (just because I'd seen some articles re arsenic in baby rice and decided I fancied using an alternative plus it's gluten free). DD seems to like it but the instructions are a little more fiddly than baby rice (i.e. water should be at 50c when adding millet etc) - does anyone know whether there's any issue with making the porridge in advance or just with tepid formula milk as you would with baby rice...am wondering how easy it would be to take out and about with us to make up?? Suggestions very welcome please!!!

i still make it now every other day as breakfast for my 19 month old. it is not hard to make up at all. not sure what all that is about re 50 degrees. i used rice milk and now cows milk. just add milk cold then heat up! it thickens up in no time. i wouldnt worry about those silly instructions and just make it! make sure you have millet flakes though as i assume you dont have millet grain?

thanks nowwearefour! The millet itself is very fine so i think it must be flakes, its for babies (the holle one) so hopefully ok. I think you're right about just making it! At the moment am using formula milk but will just do as you say and add the formula milk cold and heat it up. If I'm out and about guess there no reason why I can just add flakes to milk and do the same as I would with formula and just get it warmed up.
