Too much milk?

My DS is 8 months. He has been having solids since 5 months, purees to start with, then finger foods & mashed food since 6 months.

Now though, he just doesnt seem to eat much? Ive tried varying his finger food, he just mushes it up in his hands

Ive tried mashing my own food, flat out refused it!

tried Hipp jars, will eat a few spoons then loses interest.

He is having plenty of milk, about 3 or 4 bottles during the day, plus one or two during the night.

Any advice? Does anything sound wrong, what should i be changing? Any help would be great!

it sounds fine, let him regulate his own appetite. he knows when he is hungry.

milk should be the main source of nutrition until a year, so plenty of milk is fine

He used to eat a lot more though, only recently has he been preferring his milk to proper food. is that normal?

Sounds normal to me He could be teething, or just not as hungry at the moment. DD goes through phases of eating loads and then not really being interested. Teething definitely has a massive impact on her eating. Just keep offering plenty of milk, as tiy says it's the main source of nutrition, and plenty of healthy solid food. He'll eat more in the end

He does have massive lumps in his upper gums, so maybe thats it. Thanks!
