Title says it all really! I know I should just make my own stock [sigh!] but I'm madly busy with 3 kids so can I just use this instead, maybe weaker than they suggest?
Thanks ladies!

Hmmm not sure but Boots does do a kiddies stock cube. You couls probably use this.

i think kalloo do a salt free bouillon cube... mind you the amount of stock a 6.5 month old would be eating is tiny, non?

dustyteddy · 03/12/2008 16:23

I used it for my dd at 6 months, but used lots of water to dilute the salt, IYSWIM. She's still seems healthy now at 10 months!

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 03/12/2008 16:25

I've used it for DD. They eat such a small amount at that age I wouldn't worry about it.

HensMum · 03/12/2008 16:25

Depending on what you need it for, you could just use water. I did when making stuff for DS at that age as the amount of stock needed was so tiny anyway that I couldn't really see it making any difference.

Personally no, I know the amount they eat is tiny but so are their kidneys. Just use water.

Boots do a baby salt free stock cube, I use it for DS.

Janus · 04/12/2008 17:03

Wow, didn't know Boots did such a thing, shall look out for it next time, am using water in the meantime.
Thanks!!

Kallo is low-salt, not salt-free - but it's still too high for babies of that age imo. Another vote here for the Boots one, it's virtually salt-free (and taste-free )

Marigold do make a low salt version also (haven't looked into its suitability for a babt though)
