how on earth do I get the tray off? It just doesn't want to come off. Has anyone else wrestled with this and have a solution?

You just pull it really, really hard. It settles down after a bit and isn't so hard !

meep · 02/12/2008 15:56

there is a knack to it - I had to manhandle it for a few weeks - now it comes out but it still needs a bit of brute force!

kif · 02/12/2008 15:57

don't take the tray off!

I used to shove the whole thing into the shower at the end of the day (the joys of tiny living space... ). Now I put it in the garden and tip water on it somethimes, but aart from that just wipe. It barely has any food traps.

super chair - btw.

Aitch · 02/12/2008 15:57

i found punching it from underneath worked. it slots in on a pivot so you have to pivot it back out. like cmot says, it loosens after a few wrestling matches. PS. you will not break it so really go for it.

FaintlyMacabre · 02/12/2008 19:31

I put one hand on the back of the chair and the other under the tray (on the baby's side), there's a sort of clip that needs unclipping.
At first I couldn't do it at all, DH had to do it every time, now it's loosened so much that even my very arthritic mother can do it!

ladytophamhatt · 02/12/2008 19:37

The 1st time I took mine off I had to turn it up side down and use my foot and a lever to push it.
Dh whacked it underneath the the tray after that and sent the whole tray flying across the room!
I started a thread about it BTW, they are buggers to get off, areen't they?.

misdee · 02/12/2008 19:41

i picked mine up last week at ikea (am not sure if i'll get there again withon the next 6months), and didnt pick up the tray or insert. will i need these items? [worries]

Aitch · 02/12/2008 22:25

only if the baby is teeny (not likely ) and you aren't having her sit up at the table.

That's great, thanks. Will give the brute force method a go. I love the tray (as does DD) but I'd like her to be closer to the table most of the time.

Misdee, I'll be going to Ikea next week, I'll get a tray and send it to you if you like....
