Transition from formula to cows milk - advice needed please!

DD has just turned 1yr. Currently she is having milk 3 times a day -

7.30am - 5oz formula
3pm - 5oz cows milk
7pm - 7oz formula

She is a really good eater and I have no worries about her weight or size. I'm just wondering if and when I should be introducing more cows milk in place of the formula and if anyone knows how much formula she should still be having. I don't know if she's having too much...any advice please? Can't find an informative website for this and is a nightmare trying to get hold of a HV!

Thanks,
xx

I don't know that it really matters tbh. Cows milk is cheaper and most babes can process it from about 1 year. DS1 had formula based milkshakes til he was well over 2 as he loved em so much. DS2 will as well if he's happy and drinking them down.

So I think it really comes down to a money issue.

We did a direct swap at 11 months (we moved and the steriliser was packed, the tin of formula only had 3/4 scoops left, and for the sake of a few weeks...)
Ds went to bed one night with formula and the next day it was cows milk, that was that.
Don't know how much is recommended at this age, but think if she enjoys milk let her drink it. My ds has only had 7oz per day (not including in cereal) since he was 7/8m. He's just not bothered.
You've got to do what works for your dd.
Cow's milk is definately cheaper, and god, so much easier!!

Do you tend to warm the milk? My ds (12 mo)chugs it back and am worried about giving him an 'ice-cream headache' with 7oz cold milk in 5 min! That's one thing I find handy about formula -- I can make it up warm. I am alternating now between bottles of milk and formula (about 3-4 bottles a day plus 3 meals). Hates cup but that's a whole other issue!

I give ds 13 months;-

8oz cows milk at 11 am for a snack
8/9oz formula before bed.

Yougurts, cheese, butter all add to to their diary total too.

I've tried to give ds cow's milk before bed but he wakes up in the middle of the night for another bottle as there's not enough calories in it compared to the formula. The formula knocks him out for the night so we are sticking to that for the time being.
