Had a terrible day of feeding. Lasting nearly an hour for lunch and dinner. DS had been eating everything well until a few weeks ago when I introduced more lumps and flavours. He then went off food and wouldn't open his mouth to feed. Went back to basics and got better but today was a real struggle. He also won't drink water. Have tried all sorts of beakers and even from milk bottle. ANy advice?

I'm having the same problem with my 7 1/2 month old with the eating, I feel for you! I am currently disguising most foods in either fruit smoothie (so fish and potato with a fruit smoothie sauce as an example), or yoghurt (mashed avocado with yoghurt). It works to a degree in that he'll at least take the food! But over the past few days the amount he's eating is decreasing which is frustrating.

I'm hoping it's a phase and that because he was a really good eater before this is just a blip - maybe it's the same for your son?

Have you tried adding a tiny splash of fresh juice to his water? Might help a bit?

I would say if you've got a half decent health visitor, give them a call! That's what I'm going to do today to see what they've got to say.

Have either of you tried finger food or letting the baby feed themselves? (it's called baby-led weaning just in case you didn't know about it)
