Another dull nappy question

For mummies of 6 months plus babies who are just starting out on weaning, what does a 'normal' nappy actually look like? Is it still runny but with bits in it? Does it smell funny or go a different colour? Just checking...

cor virtually any colour/shape/smell is possible, depending on what they eat! As I did baby-led weaning DS's first weaning nappies were like breast-milk poo with bits of carrot in!

All sorts of colours these days (well, no purple but definitely lots of orange, browns and we had a mushy pea green the other day). And quite a lot firmer in consistency, especially if banana's are involved the day before!

But we still have a few runny ones too.. don't know why.

I've never been more fascinated by poo in my life.

Thanks - had lots of bits which I thought must be undigested food. Wondered if apple didn't agree with him.

I think it takes ages for their stomachs to learn how to digest different foods, produce the right enzymes etc, as things just appear to go straight through them firstly, then it appears and smells more adult-poo-like (sorry if TMI!)

Just started weaning a few days ago. Nappies have become really stinky and messier...lovely.
