Started Weaning - reassurance please

DD is 26 wks in a couple of days. Excellent head control, tongue reflex gone, sitting up by herself a tiny bit and well with support, holding the spoon and feeding herself, grabbing fruit and sucking on it so we decided to go for it a few days ago.

Now, I know lots of you are very pro BLW. Great, but I am starting with purees so please don't tell me to blw as I don't want to quite yet.

Anyway, I just want reassurance that it is pretty common to like something one day, go off it the next, have a tiny bit one day, nothing the next etc etc. I imagine it is but I just want someone to say it it fine (and I refuse to ask hv who told me to wean dd at 4mths for all the wrong reasons).
Thanks

And before anyone tells me that she doesn't need purees and just to give her bits of food to pick up, please be kind as I am a neurotic first time mum with a pfb who cannot bear the thought of gagging until some food has been introduced and she is used to different tastes.

I think it's all absolutely fine - the food is mainly for fun and for tastes at this age, so just give her a taste of something, and don't worry if she doesn't like it.

Liking something one day and not the next goes on until they're at least 10 unfortunately

It's fine. Sometimes they will lick at something and really like the taste, then the next day they have the same thing and the realise the texture is strange. sometimes they don't want to have it, it is new after all. There is a saying "food is fun until they are one" which i find a bit \but helps to keep me calm when i worry about what they are or arent eating

it's all fine, there really is no rush. whichever way makes you and your baby happy is the best way to wean your baby imo. enjoy it!

Thanks. I am reassured - but already a bit sick of being covered in orange!
