I've done it! (well almost anyway) he's going to be 26weeks on monday and has been exclusively BF .

We are going to give BLW a go, but don't know what to give him - we have carrots, sweet potato and pumpkin here - i was thinking of a bit of pumpkin as a first taste.

I did read a blog - Aitch's I think - all about BLW - but can't find it - can anyone link me to it please ? and any other links to BLW would be appreciated too!

We did the mush on DS1, but want to try something different this time!

I don't know how to do links but if you google 'baby led weaning' you'll find it. Someone will come along and do the link I'm sure. We've been BLW for five days and started with butternut squash, then broccoli and sweet potato (all of which went down well). The squash and potato were oven roasted in a bit of olive oil and the brocolli steamed. In fact she's mad for broccoli. She also has liked ripe pear. She didn't seem that fussed with carrots or courgettes. Every baby will be a bit different though so just experiment. She hasn't been able to pick up things yet that are too slippery (mango, papaya and advocado). It's fun - enjoy!

Well done!

The first that my DD had was banana and then broccoli. To start with we had to leave the skin on the banana because it was too slippery to hold. She also sucked the broccoli trunk. Ahhh, it's so exciting. She's been BLWing for almost 2 months now and I still get really excited when I watch her eat and play with her food.

There were 2 things that we did when things were too slippy - leave the skin on so they can get a grip (DD has no teeth so not really an issue) and another thing to try is to pat dry with kitchen roll to make it less slippy.
