20 week old dd took spoon and nearly fed herself cheesecake earlier!

Oops, eating whilst cuddling her as she is very clingy at the mo. Looked away for a second and she had the spoon nearly in her mouth with some cheesecake on!!!

Anyone else had a near miss like this one? BTW Im not weaning her until 6 months although I am sure she would have it earlier

Oh yes, DD ate tons of stolen stuff before we weaned her, she was particularly partial to nicking bits of toast

Don't feel bad, the fact that she's starting to take an interest is great - means you will have less food on the ceilings/wall/floor for the next year!

Yes, mine was eating soil at the park at 20 weeks - yum!

Yes, I was eating a big bowl of apple crumble and custard earlier and DS2 was sat looking at me and his eyes were following the spoon as it went from the dish to my mouth and back again - and he was drooling!

Felt really guilty especially as by his age, DS1 was eating loads of solids, BUT, am going to hold out until he's 6 months.

My LO watched me eat my post-birth toast - seriously!

I feel guilty aswell. Poor thing, she watches me eat chocolate, cheesecake, biscuits and she cant have any of it!! No wonder she cries so much just before her bottle - She wants chocolate not milk

God, I sound like a right pig - I dont eat those things all the time! Just treats now and then

I did with spring rolls from the chinese. Was breastfeeding DS (about 14 weeks) balanced on my lap with the plate over him. A little hand came up, grabbed a roll and he looked so pleased with himself!

A prime first weaning food I feel - lots of yummy MSG! He didnt get to eat it by the way but my greed played a role in that...

yes - i occasionally found bits of grass, hair, fluff in DS2s nappy (now 5 months and being weaned on bananas and babyrice)...

I weaned my son early. If they're ready, they're ready, mum knows best. I weaned because of the exact same thing and he was showing all the signs of being ready. He used to feed himself back then but he won't at the moment!! He's almost 6 months now so I don't know why. Think he's getting lazy lol.

Im thinking of weaning dd at 5 months. I know she is ready and I know she is going to love food - Just like me!

You may get shot down for admitting it, but you'll know yourself if she's ready. Make sure you read up first so you know the pros and cons and whats what. I had no choice as baby had reflux and was also constipated due to all of his meds. It's done him the world of good though and he LOVES his food and says 'mmm' and 'yum' lol. He's 25 weeks.
