started weaning and up with Tummy pains ....Should i Just stop

On the advise of HV I started weaning 2 days ago but now up in the night with tummy pains. my little one is on antibiotics could this be why he started waking and not that he is ready for weaning. HV said he is ready but I think he is too young 4.5 months.

Stop weaning. Antibiotics and starting weaning at the same time is too much for your baby.

What were the HV reasons for weaning early?

I believe that babies are best weaned at 6 months.

However regardless of that i think he will be best on milk, ds is nearly 7 months and ill at the moment and so i have stopped solids until he is better. Antibiotics upset the stomach so i think as he has to have those it would be best to leave the food until he is better, or if possible he is 6 months.

HV said all the signs are there. watching us eat, which he has done since birth. and waking. He has gain well over 2 weeks, but Im sure its down to being ill. He was up crying agin last night and he has always been a good sleeper until he became ill 2 weeks ago. worrid about just stopping though.

Those aren't signs that he's ready for weaning. Stopping the solids will do no harm at all, so why not leave it for another 6 weeks till he's really ready ?
