food strike

My friend is having real difficulty feeding her six month old baby. He clamps his jaws shut when she trys to feed him (either puree or milk - she is lucky to get him to drink a few ounces) and his growth is now dropping off. Does anyone have any experience of this type of behaviour and any suggestions which might work?

when my dd gets distracted and wont nurse, i often have to go into a dark boring room, or feed her when she is sleepy or just waking up.

food solids, will he self feed?
