Where can I buy some? Trying to get myself organised in advance of weaning in 3 wks.

Have zero freezer space though. I can see us eating veggie burgers and frozen chips every night for the next few wks

Lakeland is good

littlelamb · 14/10/2008 20:41

Lakelan. I got some nearly 4 years ago from there to help wean dd and they have been used constantly since and are still as good as new.

littlelamb · 14/10/2008 20:42

lakelanD obviously

I bought some on sale from Wittard's. £1 or £1.50 a tray! You also do realise you are meant to pop the cubes out into a freezer bag once they are frozen so you shouldn't need more than 2 (and you should save some freezer space too!)...

The silicone ones are the best - so easy to get the cubes out once you have frozen them. Do not bother with the Annabel Karmel ones, they were a real pain to get the cubes released.

like these

Another tip is that once frozen, you can put some warm water in your sink and sit your tray in it for a few seconds and the cubes will come out really easily...

geraldinetheluckygoat · 14/10/2008 21:11

Sainsburys do them too. agree that annabel karmel ones were rubbish.

marmitemad · 14/10/2008 21:16

I got mine from cargo homeshop (came with a little tray which was great for keeping it level after filling) here

jimmyjammys · 14/10/2008 21:17

I think the AK ones were so deep that even after you put them in the warm water it was still difficult to get them out without getting your fingers burned by the cold or breaking a finger nail.

georgimama · 14/10/2008 21:17

Ikea - funky shapes and cheap too.

pudding25 · 14/10/2008 21:33

great thanks - just found out my mil has bought me the AK ones!

I only realised that you get the cubes out cos someone told me!
