heat up your baby's food when you're out?

All the info I have says that when heating, food should be heated until piping hot throughout, then left to cool. But how can I do that when we're out?? Are there any gizmos on the market to sell to gullible mothers like me??

Or do you just feed them it cold?

Just started to wean DD 6mo (today!) and haven't a clue!

Will any question I ask on this board end up being about BLW?
Hmm, will shuffle off and puree my head.

If I knew that ds was due feeding within an hour or so of going out then I used to heat the food till piping hot and then put it in a bowl with a lid and by the time it was due to be fed to him it had cooled down a bit. The alternative was a jar which was fed to him cold or take a banana or a fruit pot and a yoghurt. You can then either use the banana as finger food or mash it with a fork and feed it with a spoon.

BLW isn't just about "finger food" ds ate porridge, cereal, yogurt, scrambled egg, shepherds pie, fish pie, cheesy mash, pasta and sauce, spag bol, lasagne etc all with his hands.
