BLW and soup

My ds (aged 3 1/2 was BLW) eats most things and really enjoys his food. He will not eat soup though. How many other children weaned straight onto finger food have this issue?

not sure if it is just a finger food thing - have a few friends whose DCs took a while to get their heads round the idea of effectively 'drinking' their lunch even though they were weaned on purees.

I put pieces of bread or toast in ds's soup which soaks the majority of it up.
