Just wondering if it would be ok to give ds2 some marmite on his toast tomorrow morning - might as well start him young since ds1 would live on it...I know it's got salt in it so I would only give a very thin scraping...

Is this ok?

If it is a thin scraping then not really enough salt to do any harm, there woudl be more in the bread IMO.
for what it's worth both DD@s had marmite on toast as ther first food, not intentionally, but I always have it for breakfast and they both nicked a slice out of my hands a few days short of 26 weeks and chomped down!

yeah it's fine as long as they don't eat huge amounts of it. if you want to give it a lot there are low salt versions in health food shops but the marmite fans I know say it tastes pretty wrong compared to the normal brand!
