DD burst into tears mid-bite!

...and I don't think it was my cooking!

She's almost 9 months, and was merrily chomping through some homemade pizza when she burst into tears and had an inconsolable strop.

I'm really not sure what the problem was, any ideas?

A hot bit? A tooth coming through aggravated by chewing?
I am perplexed by this one!

ds2 bit his tongue alot when we were first weaning.. could it be that??

LackaDAISYcal · 13/08/2008 20:16

radioactive tomato topping?

DD reacts in a similar fashion if anything is too hot.

she never tries to spit it out though; just swallows it and then howls inconsolably.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/08/2008 20:17

or if she hasn't chewed properly and it has gone down whole it might hurt.

Hmmm...I don't think it was too hot - she has a different face for "you've left that too hot you twerp". I had cut it into very small wedges and left it to cool for a bit. Maybe it was a tooth then - we've had lots of dribbling, and finger chewing etc. recently. cue my DH's comment: "she can't be teething, she hasn't any teeth yet"!
