The cat has a new favourite position - under the highchair at mealtimes. Bits of chicken and fish float down and he gets them!

Our dog died a couple of months ago - and I am suddently having to clean up under the table for the first time ever, though mine don't drop food anything like as much as friend's kids - I think having an under-the-table-snaffling-animal makes them realise that dropped food is lost food, which isn't a good thing if it is biscuits

oh that's sad, I'm sorry. I like it as a motivational tool for hanging on to your food though!

today DS could hear the cat's bell as he hoovered up uneaten fish, but he couldn't see it, and it was very frustrating for him!

my dogs love it - althou they now only get thrown the bits DS doens't like as opposed to everything!

sarahlou - do you have to stop your dog eating highchair snacks then? How do you do that?

presumably dogs eat everything? Cats are only interested in the protein! Maybe he will like cheese as well when that starts

he is now confined to the garden during meal times!

that and the boys are getting better at not lobbing their food around!

my dog got so fat during weaning. now DS has twigged that when he doesn't want something he just throws it to the mutt.

DS feeds him deliberately now as well .

He is very discerning, won't touch the flying vegetables but hangs on for the good stuff.

now my cat has eaten sweet potato and avocado - because it was all mixed up with chicken. he comes in, checks his bowl and then checks under the highchair!

oh yes my dog loves it. the cat does not get a look in unless nephew is here as he loves throwing bits of anything at the cat! bless him it has him in stitches watching the cat munch up th bits of whatever.

Indeed, our cat was a stray we adopted whilst living abroad and he has always enjoyed a sneaky bit of takeaway when possible, but now.. with a 6.5mth old the cat is like a pig rolling in mud, rice cakes, cheese, regurgated cereal.. mmm the cat approves

If Ds so much as put a sticky, porridge covered hand in view, our dog would leap up and lick it clean

I often ponder the ridiculousness of having to stop the dog with the wheat alleergy from eating dds dropped toast.

oh yes, BrownSuga - DS now will deliberately put his hands out to be cleaned!

oh yes, the spaniel thinks she's died and gone to heaven.
It's also completely changed the way she thinks about DS. he is no longer the imposter who stole her number one spot, but the toddler who gets into bed with her, takes her for walks and flings food to her at every opportunity ! they are best buddies now
