DS is 22 weeks old and we're holding off solids for at least another two weeks, when I'd like to try BLW. I took him for a weigh-in today and he'd dropped ever so slightly off his 25th centile line, to which he's stuck like a magnet since birth, pretty much. HV wasn't concerned, but said perhaps I'd do well to consider starting solids in next week or two (I told her I was planning to wait until at least 24 wks). She did say he was thriving and doing well, so maybe she just says this to everyone at the 22 week mark if they're not there yet.
Then she said that solids would be more calorific, weight for weight, that breastmilk, because they were more - 'calorie dense', I think she said.
She's wrong, I presume? She had fruit and veg in mind, not cheese or anything. I'm not worried, but I was assuming that his weight would actually slow when we started solids, not gain!
