Is pesto okay for a 10 month old baby. Its a favourite of DS1, so would be a handy thing for DC's to have together

it has certainly been a favourite of dd's since she was 6 mos.

Tommy · 28/07/2008 22:17

mine certainly had it at that age

puffylovett · 28/07/2008 22:18

couldn't have survived weaning without it

OurHamsterisevil · 28/07/2008 22:18

Thanks for the quick replies, I was worried about the nuts in it

My 10 month old has been inhaling penne with pesto for a few months now so another YES

puffylovett · 28/07/2008 22:27

i might be talking completely out of my rear end, but I don't think pine nuts are nuts, they are seeds...

ExterminAitch · 28/07/2008 22:30

aha, but a lot of times they're actually cashews. not peanuts though, so the gist is the same.

OurHamsterisevil · 28/07/2008 22:34

Well that settles it, pasta and pesto for dinner tomorrow night

Is the salt content in the ready made stuff ok though? Or do all you domestic goddesses make your own!

ExterminAitch · 29/07/2008 13:36

i just always figured that the actual amount of salt wasn't very much, given that you were only adding a teaspoon if that. plus i used to cut it with a bit more oil, as i recall.

hughjarssss · 29/07/2008 13:39

What brand does everyone buy thats ok for babies?
