What meals shall I make my DD?

Hello. My HV has advised me to put my (6 month old) DD on a high calerie diet to help her put on some weight. She said stuff like if I am giving her veg, to add cheese in and give yogurts.

I want to make some meals that I can make a batch of, that me and DH can eat, and I can freeze some indervidual portions.

What would be good meals to make? I was thinking of making some spag bol tomorrow, and just sprinkling cheese on top, which is what we like anyway. Will it freeze ok? I know the bolagnaise(sp) will but what about the spaggetti?

And she already has some potato + cheese/Pot and tomatoe in the freezer.

What other things shall I make, preferably something that will help with weight gain.

Spag bol freezes fine.

Spag carbonara with cream?

Adding cream and shed loads of butter to mashed potato?

Risotto with lots of cheese and when defrosting ass full fat milk rather than water.

Fish pie, again with full fat milk and lots of cheese on top.

Pizza! Homemade.

I don't think you can freeze risoto because you shouldn't reheat rice? Might have got that wrong.

Thanks for the other ideas though

I am in the same situation as you as my dd is a tiny little thing and my hv is always telling my to fatten her up. She is on the 4th percentile. My dd not the hv...

I have never really understood why I am supposed to do this. She seems fine to us. She is not too small length wise so I don't see why.

I make this as she loves the dumplings and lamb is quite fatty

I make a fish and cream thing with rice and freeze it and that is good too. Will look on website later.

Oh and macaroni and cheese.

And sausages. I did make her some ice-cream but she didn't like it.

But mostly I just feed her regular food.

When my dd was 6 months old she wasn't even on the graph but she really is fine. She is 20 months old now.

reheating rice is fine so long as you make sure it is properly heated through. The danger with rice is when you eat it cold, like is rice salad when you should cool it straight after cooking under cold water
