When can DS (6mths) eat what DD (2.4) does?

I know it wasn't that long ago that I weaned DD (2.4yrs old now) but it all seems so different this time round and DS is a totally different baby to what DD was.

After a very slow start (ok, I realise it's only been 2 wks!) DS now gobbles up quite a bit of food (mostly purees but he does have finger foods at every meal). If I ensure DD's meals don't have anything in that DS isn't allowed til he's a year old can I just puree up her food? She mostly has her own meals made up similar to ours but we like a lot of spicy food and some stuff I wouldn't be happy for her to have as I don't think it's nourishing enough for her so I make up quite a few meals for her and freeze them.

I forget the reasoning behind giving them pureed brocolli/carrot/courgette etc for a few days at a time. He had a pot from the Plum organics range today that had 3 flavours and he ate the lot

You can give it now really. As long as its faily healthy food, with no added sugar or salt, and nice and varied...then it will be fine.

My 6 month old has pretty much anything, I do make the fruit/veg purees and freeze, but I also give her what ever we are having and just give her the frozen stuff when we are eating junk (which is quite often )

the reason for introducing one food at a time is to watch out for signs of allergy. Also, if your LO seemed to dislike something, he might like it the second time around (and you will know exactly what he disliked). but honestly, you shouldn't stress about it so if he likes it and this is more convenient for you, then give him mixtures.

I wouldn't bother pureeing, just give DS the same as DD and see how he handles it. Do check out www.babyledweaning.com too, if only for the funny photos

I've tried him on some finger food and he mostly gags and then is sick so for now I'm sticking with purees!
