Sweet tooth/BLW queries - help appreciated

My daughter's just begun weaning in last couple of weeks and is already very keen on fruit purees, yoghurt etc. So keen that she's trying to drop milk feeds, but my HV says that if that's the case she needs to be having more carbs/protein like potatoes/meat etc. What's the best way of introducing these - so far she's knocked back all veg, I suspect because it's not sweet. She did have some sweet potatoes/carrots pureed this am, but I had to add some orange juice to sweeten. Also, had not heard of BLW until recently - can I start it altho have already embarked on purees and spoon feeding?

Ds has a sweet tooth too, one thing I've found 'tricks' him sometimes is to give him a spoon of sweet then a spoon of savoury. Also I mix something like pureed apple or pear into savoury things, eg he has chicken and apple puree (it has sweet potato and onions in also), he really likes carrot and apple puree. I try to make sure that if he has sweet things they are sweetened with fruit rather than sugar.
Sometimes he does eat savoury things without having to be ticked into it at all but these are the things I try when he's being more difficult HTH.
