Well, DD is a week shy of 1 year, she has been purely BLWed from 6 months (well, the only thing I spoon feed her is yoghurt, I usually can't take the mess!) and today she has eaten soup herself with a spoon!

If I give her soup normally it's usually just soaked in bread, but today she wasn't that bothered, so I held the bowl in front of her, and at first she just stuck her hands in it but when I gave her a spoon she started properly eating with it, put the spoon in herself, load up with soup then put it in her mouth, mostly upside down, but she has gotten through a fair amount. Then she started dipping the bread in herself.

I am feeling very proud! She has made a fricking mess, but proud all the same. Indulge while I preen at my obviously G&T DD and congratulate myself on my superior parenting choices

OHH now I have a question - am about to wean dd3. What size chunks of veg do you give them as finger food?

(bur brilliant news about the soup eating - how fantastic . clearly on her way to oxbridge )

Nice one, buntinglicious!

cazzybabs I give my DS finger sized/ shaped veg. Big enough to hold and chew/ suck, too big to go in all at once. If it won;t go finger shaped then it's just a big chunk. Good luck!
