Weaning struggles: Disinterested and just wants the boob!

Hey Mamas!!!!

So my baba will be 8 months in a few days. From birth we incorporated bottle feeding with breastfeeding, then around 3½ months he straight refused any bottle despite trying different brands.

Around 5 months there started to be a little interest in food. Tried purées but preferred solids that could be held.

By 6 months that interest has completely gone! Little man would try little bits if and when he pleases but is STUBBORN!!!

Now we're at a stage where all he is interested in is stealing my cutlery and food getting pushed away.

Sorry for the longest way of asking for any tips/suggestions on how to get this weaning journey back on track 😅

I'm trying to laugh and smile through it but my gosh!! I never thought weaning would be this hard!! I'm due to go back to work soon and baba will be staring nursery and I'm filled with dread that he's going to starve 😞

It’s rare for children to starve themselves. In nursery he will be with lots of children, happily eating so he will follow their lead.
One of mine refused to eat broccoli at home but would happily eat it at school and at both grandparents’ homes, when I wasn’t around!

How old will he be when he starts Nursery @MsLaidBack?

Does he have a routine of rough timings for milk feeds and solid meals? At this age I made sure the milk was after the meal, so that he is definitely hungry when trying solids. Even better if you can take him swimming beforehand!

Swimming is like magic isn’t it? Even my extremely fussy DD would wolf down her food after swimming Smile
