Cow's milk as drink for under 1's

I'm fairly sure I'm right about this but just wanted to check.

Cow's milk isn't suitable as a drink because it lacks certain things, not because it's actually bad for them, yes? DS is drinking enough formula so there's no harm in me giving him a little drink of cow's milk in a cup, in addition to his usual formula, to try and get him used to it for when he moves onto it later, right?

Yes. You can use it in cooking, for example, so a small drink can't hurt.
