Have you looked at babyledweaning.com? They have lots of ideas for finger foods for babies from 6 months.

If he likes toast why not try things of a similar texture such as scotch pancakes toasted and with butter on?

My dd is almost 10 months and we do a mix of finger foods and purees. She has a range of finger foods but is a bit fussy. She is better with things that "disintegrate" in her mouth - Organix sugar free rusks are a favourite, also rice cakes spread with soft cheese. (they go soggy which she enjoys)!

She loves messing about with baby corn and asparagus. The tiny bit come off in her mouth.

Humzinger sticks used to be popular with her as well (dried fruit sticks, near the raisins in supermarket)

For both DD's at 9 months I stopped any form of purees etc and gave them whatever we were eating as finger foods and they fed themselves.

Pitta bread. Either plain or stuffed. I like to put a slice of cheese in, toast in the panini press and let cool.
Eggy bread if your baby has teeth. I tried this with my 8 month old but he still only has two teeth and could not quite manage it.

Coergettes are good, ds (10m) loves them. He also likes green beans, cucumber, kiwi, strawberries, humzingers, naanbread with peanut butter (smooth).

mini bread sticks with or without dip
cheese triangles - ds used to love squidgeing it up first!
banana pieces
peas
plain cereal such as cheerios/rice krispies, although you might want to wait for a few teeth first!
grated carrot/cucumber etc
apple/pear slices - ds used to just suck them and maybe a bit of gnawing.
cooked & cooled potato or sweet potato or butternut squash pieces

Shell001, I found pitta bread a little bit hard, ds won't have normal bread so I se naan coz it a bit softer, doesn't have such an odd texture.

Oh yes good idea i ll try abit ...
