Hi db, just to let you know that my separated-at-birth-from-your-DD son is a week away from being 9 months old and he has just started to eat! 3 meals a day for the last week, mainly BLW, with very little fussing. And he tried everything you put in front of him. Last night he ate a roast dinner all by himself - chicken, potato, half a Yorkshire pudding, carrots, peas and a huge lump of courgette, followed by strawberries and blueberries! I was at the change in him - I did nothing different at all, he just decided to do it. He's, I think, 2 months older than your DD, so just to say hang in there and it will hopefully get better soon - my DS proves that the little monsters can decide to change sometimes! How have things been with you this week?

Tinkjon, that's such fantastic news - well done to your DS and to you for your patience!! It's really helpful and encouraging to hear that there may be a light at the end of this tunnel...

DD has had a mixed week, both solids and milk wise, really up and down - probably because I tried the HV advice and giving solids before milk at lunchtime for few days - which was an unmitigated disaster - she ended up rejecting both

Today was turning out to be a record breaking good day as she'd eaten some breakfast and a good lunch and done quite well with her milk - then she launched herself off my lap and landed on her head - cue lots and lots of crying and not much more eating... more traumatised than damaged, I think, at least there were no bruises by bedtime. Poor love... I thought it was all going too well

Just taking it a day at a time, really, and hoping she'll get into it before I go completely bonkers... or she disappears entirely...

Thanks for the encouraging post

db
xx

Oh, poor little love!! Hope she's ok. I wonder if it made any difference that DS has started crawling properly - he's using up more energy so maybe he's happy to take in more? So things could change for you then.

Also forgot to add - is your DD on vitamin drops? My HV said that DS should have some and she said they might increase his appetite. I thought that was rubbish and didn't think anything more of it (how on Earth can vitamins affect appetite?) but the day he started taking them was the day he started to eat! I'm fairly convinced it was a coincidence, but I thought I'd mention it anyway!
