6mo has been screaming whilst pooing so have decided to try giving her prunes with her breakfast, bought some in juice but should I be cooking them first or just puree them as they are?

I buy dried ones and them cook them and whizz up a bit using the cooking liquid. Makes a good spread for rice cakes and stuff and can be used to mix with porridge etc. Sounds disgusting I know, but my 6 month old eats it. Also dried apricots are good this way too. I think you can also soak the dried prunes and then use the liquid for LO to drink. Only takes a few teaspoons.

Yes, cook them first. The purée is delicious mixed with fromage frais.

I buy the dried ones and squeeze the inside out (you just squeeze hard and the inside flesh pops out through the skin)and use that as a spread or just pop it in dd's mouth - she loves them! You can just pop a few in a plastic tub and take them out with you for a snack - I end up eating the tougher bits of skin - so keeps me regular too!
