Bottles while weaning

I’m looking for some advice on baby weaning. What do we do about the bottles while feeding? If we give LO morning bottle and then breakfast sometime after before next bottle, do we lower the oz in the bottle due to having food, or do we keep the bottles exactly the same as before weaning?

How old? You would normally keep the bottles as is until they’re eating a decent amount of food then they’d gradually taper off. But once you’re on 3 meals a day it might look something like 7am bottle, 8am breakfast, 10am bottle, 12pm lunch, 3pm bottle, 5pm dinner, 7pm bottle. Just make however many ounces they will drink since milk is still the most important source of nutrition- it may reduce or it may not, babies are usually excellent at regulating so you don’t need to worry. Probably around 11/12 months you swap the daytime bottles for snacks. Then once they’re over 1 ditch the first one and go straight breakfast serving cows milk in a cup as their drink. Finally stop the bedtime bottle but for some people that lingers a bit longer if it’s a key part of the routine.

6 months. He usually has 6oz every 4 hours so wasn’t sure if the bottles should be kept the same or reduced. The plan was first bottle around 8am (depending on wake up time), then porridge around 10am and then carry on bottles for the rest of the day?

I’d Keep the same. My LO (9 months) has 5x 5oz bottles (every 4 hours). I’d give food an hour after bottle. Ideally you don’t want them reducing milk until on 3 meals a day.

so our routine looks like this: 8am bottle, 9am breakfast, 9:30-11:00 nap, 12pm bottle, 1pm lunch, 2:30-4pm nap, 4pm bottle, 5pm dinner, 7:30 bottle during bedtime routine, 10pm dream feed.
