Weaning 7.5 month old

We’ve taken the baby lead weaning approach with our LO

At 7 and half months she’s yet to actually put anything in her mouth.
She shows an intest in food and will often grab out when we eat etc but when we give her anything she just smashes it on her table….

We’ve offered her some food on spoons but she often spits out and isn’t keen on purres from pouches or homemade.

I can remember thinking that one of mine wasn’t eating but the nappies told a different story. What are the nappies like?

Just keep trying, but stay patient with her. Keep eating in front of her, I really exaggerate putting the food in my mouth, chewing etc so he can learn. It'll come

It's ok if they spit stuff out! I'm always pleased when food actually goes on my baby's mouth, it's good for them to learn about flavour and texture.

Sometimes I would use my finger to smear a bit of food on my baby's lips to get them to at least taste it.

All babies are different. My DC1 was like that and barely ate anything until they were turning 1. DC2 was practically eating full meals at 8 months old. DC3 so far is closer to DC1 but perhaps not quite as bad. They'll get there.
