Food to take to childminders

my 14 months ds has lunch at his childmnders that we provide.
I like him to have hot, fairly substantial meal then, but am struggling to think of what to prepare - rice seems to be out as heard mixed things about reheating, pasta doesn't seem to microwave well so he gets lots of casseroles etc. Poor boy struggled through hearty beef stew during last weeks hot weather!

Any tips most appreciated

rice is fine to reheat so long as it was cooled quickly after it was initially cooked.

it isn't important nutrition-wise that the meal is hot - nothing wrong with pasta salad, cold meat, sandwiches etc in hot weather

What about finger foods? Mini home made burgers and patties with veg and bread, or home made pizze fingers? Did some easy pizza things for DS the other day: finely chopped veg, bit of tomato puree, stick on half bread roll top with cheese and bake in oven.

Other things that have gone down well: mini samosas (mild obv), cornish pasties, fish fingers, roast chicken, hummous and breadsticks/veg sticks.

Yes you're right about cold meals, just meant don't want him to have sarnies every day. V keen on pasta so will try pasta salad soon.
