Has anyone seen the Cow & Gate breakfast cereal advert where mum, dad and child are sat around table having breakfast, its all clean, tidy and happy and the child doesn't have a scrap of food on her (even when she has the bowl at the end). Please tell me that life isnt like that for 'normal people'. Ive been weaning dd for about 2 months now and its a right mess, especially weetabix and when we do blw at lunch and tea!

it is like that here at brekkie time as dd2 (11 months) has a good appetite and will not miss breakfast however come dinner time my house in covered in bits of her lunch/snacks/dinner that she has tried to throw to the dog!

also i had dd1 to contend with who refused to let any food pass her lips for quite some time and is still a v poor eater so i deserve a good child when it comes to eating! lmao

dont worry too much it will get better in time

I wish!!

DS is 13 months old and we started weaning at 5 months and he still makes a right mess.

Plenty of mess round here with 15m old DS3 as well!

Baby aderts eh? I always think it's a bit when they show the pushchairs in the catalogues - with the gorgeous, beautifully dressed Mum pushing the immacualate baby in immaculate pushchair. I don't know why they don't show them with 2 or 3 carrier bags hanging off the handles, various toys and grubby comfort blankets hanging off them and a baby eating the remains of a biscuit he found in the pushchair that was left over from yesterday... (or is that just me? )

Lol Tommy - that is very true, I am with you on the pushchair thing!

My DD has started weaning for the last couple of weeks, and yes, it is messy. But I think thats half the fun!
