6mth DS not interested in finger foods - is this normal?

I keep reading about this BLW stuff. We've been weaning DS on purees for a few days now and have offered him some finger food - but he doesn't seem interested - just looks at it and then lets go of it. Is this normal?

DS was about 8 mths before he wanted any finger foods. The mini rice cakes are good because they melt.

baby-led weaning

ie offer them finger foods and let them get on with it - no spooning in slop
