Like, can I do carrot sticks in the microwave for instance? Also, what other things can I do? DS is 6mths and have been giving him purees for almost 2 weeks now so want to offer finger foods too.

We do everything in the microwave - I never do veg any other way.

We just put them in a tupperware with a little bit of water, then put a lid loosely on and zap for a couple of minutes, then test. You'll get to know what veg need how long in your microwave. Dead easy.

I was just coming on to talk about microwave steaming. Or cook them on the hob in a little saucepan and a bit of water, but watch them like a hawk!

For when you are extra lazy you can buy microwaveable single portion bags of veg. like this
