7mo suddenly loses appetite for solids and gets cranky - is it the heat?

Over the last two days my 7mo DD has lost her appetite for solids, and screams uncharacteristically if I try to feed her more than a couple of mouthfuls of anything other than smooth fruit puree. She is also a bit clingy and cries if I put her down or ignore her. She has not gone to sleep as usual the last two nights either (but sleeps OK when she does drop off). Teething? The heat? Any ideas for how to get to her to eat a bit more?

Its the heat, if she can sit up, then why not try feeding her in the bath. (my dd didn't sit unaided until 9mo and then walked at 9mo 3wks, so not sure at what age most babys sit up.)

my god Yellowmama.... we have the same child!!
My ds too (also 7 months) used to love his food, but now refuses after 2/3 spoonfuls. He even turns his nose up at his milk except for first thing in the morning and last bottle at 7pm.

Whats wrong with them...?????!

Hi - Sorry, been away for two days. Thanks for your replies.

All better now so am putting it down to the weather. No sign of any teeth. I heard that they can go on "mini-strike" which is nothing out of the ordinary, so I relaxed about it. Hope things are back to normal with you too Mine!

Teeth always make my ds go on hunger strike. He will only eat banana puree during this time. Someone (I can't remember who) told me to look at what they eat over the period of a week rather than a day - I find this helps me stay calm in the face of such crazy food refusal.
