water?

My DD is 6 months and being weaned. She is bf and wont take a bottle or cup of ebm. Nor will she take water... she arches her back and moves her head away if I try to give her water out of a cup (am not even bothering with a bottle). Does anyone have any tips as to how to persuade a baby to take a cup of water?

I should add that I'm going to be BLW as she doesnt like spoons being aimed at her mouth either...

Thanks for your help!

It took my ds months of waving a bottle around madly before he actually drank any of it. He did in the end though, I would just keep on offering it.

sorry that should have been waving a cup

I'd offer the cup at a mealtime and then leave it on the highchair tray for her to touch, play about with and eventually drink from it. My ds was using his independantly within a few days of offering it at each mealtime. I use the tommee tippee first cup which has a free-flowing spout so it is easy to get the water out.

try a doidy cup (john lewis or thatcuteage.com) first in the bath with ebm in..every night - then try water when she gets the hang of it. this worked really well for us after months of trying a bottle, and failing. then we moved onto the annabel karmel cup (valve removed) or the cow cup - he loves them both now
good luck!
