Ds has diarrhoea 3 days into solids? Am I doing it wrong?

Started day 1 with broccoli, day 2 carrot and day 3 avocado. Purées with a piece for BLW. First tastes, never had baby rice or anything just breast milk

His poos over the 3rd night became very frequent wet, mucusy and greener in colour and he was having diarrhoea in every new nappy, even pooing in his sleep which is so unlike him!

he has also developed a persistent cough

I took him to the doctor who said it could be a number of things, so I’m no closer to knowing whether they are related or just a coincidence

How to proceed with weaning?

You could always give weaning a break for a week or so until his digestion has settled, then if the problem recurs you can look into whether it links to something in particular. It is very early days and he could easily have picked up a non food related bug. Is he showing interest in food?

@Latenightreader he shows lots of interest in our food! Trying to grab the plate and staring at us eating, but when presented with his own he wasn’t as impressed. I don’t think he swallowed very much of any of the veg to be honest

I have a wonderful memory of the first time my daughter swallowed food (carrot puree I think). Her expression was pure outrage and disgust. Her first solid food nappy was greated with similar suspicion and a 'What is going on down there?' face!

Hope your son feels better soon.
