6m old won't eat a thing without the trots or sick - any ideas

I have tried on a variety of foods, baby rice, porridge, rice pudding, rusk, pureed carrots etc etc. All he does is swallow it and then is sick about 30 minutes later. He is formula fed so I know it is not a lactose intolerance. I spoke to the midwife at the doc surgery and she was not concerned. He ate a good chunk of rusk the other day and was not sick but then he had the trots for 3 days afterwards.
He has recently stared to wake in the night and drains all of his 4, 8oz bottles every day plus he is over 6 months old so I thought I had better get started.

Anyone had a similar experience or got any ideas??

not an expert, but I would have thought that as long as he is drinking formula without trots or sickness, he probabl isn't ill. Maybe trying solids in a few days time and see how he goes then.

Does he seem ok in other ways? no temperature etc?

He is not unwell atall. I tried him about a month ago then thought maybe he wasnot ready so waited a couple of weeks and tried agin but the same thing happened. I have waited again - on the advice of the midwife and it is still the same. I know he may not be ready but I was hoping someone may have had something similar they could share with me!

Is he losing weight?

does gluten intolerance show as vomiting? check out the allergy board - they are fab over there.

He was always on the 91st centile but now he has dropped to the 75th centile - I think this is why they are not overly concerned casue he has always been quite a chunk.

Will skip over to allergy thread to see if they can help me. Thanks
