How to prevent food in eyes

Started weaning my 6 month old. He loves it, loves the food, really eats quite a bit of it to my surprise. I load the spoon for him and he takes it to his mouth by himself but he misses / food comes off etc and he gets food all over his hands, mouth, cheeks etc. All good except he often than rubs his eyes with dirty hands....any tips to prevent that? Anything I haven't thought of? I could feed him myself but he likes to snatch the spoon himself.

It's never occurred to me to worry about this!

Assuming you're not feeding him anything full of chilli, he'll be fine.

Sounds like he's on a learning curve. I assume he'll stop soon if he doesn't like it Wink

My DC will occasionally rub his eyes while eating but not regularly.

If this is happening a lot - is he very tired when he's having his meal?

Are his eyes itchy? Keep an eye out for reactions to allergens.
