Could this have been a strawberry allergy?

Hi

I've been trying out lots of foods with my daughter of 8 months, she eats everything I give her and loves to suck on a strawberry. I've given them to her twice before, but on Sunday she ate two and then on Sunday evening she woke up screaming, covered in a rash and we couldn't console her. We eventually took her to the emergency GP who said she had a throat infection as her throat was red and swollen. She was so poorly the next day to, we took her to our own GP for another opinion, he said it was a virus?

She didn't eat anything for two days, gagging on everything and throwing it up and drank a tiny amount of milk, I was so worried about her. She was poorly for two days, but on Wednesday just woke up and was completely fine?

I've heard of people having strawberry allergies, does this sound like she may have it?

AM not sure if this was an allergic reaction or not - sounds more like an infection or something to me. However, fruit lke strawberries and kiwi are allergenic so should probably be avoided until your DD is a year old.
