Petit Filous at 6 months - OK?

HI there, am weaning my LO and it's going reasonably well - she doesn't take great quantities but seems happy to try most things. Friends of mine have said that petit filous are always a winner, and since she's not that keen on drinking her milk (long story on another thread) I thought it might be a good way of getting some calcium into her.

But I know cows milk isn't recommended before 1 year, but what about other dairy produce like these?

OK, or should I leave it a bit longer?

No, they're full of sugar and processed crap. Better to go with a natural yogurt. Yogurt and cheese are OK before 1 year as the proteins are partly digested.

In the UK they say to use cow's milk in food before a year but here on the continent they say otherwise. I personally chose to keep my DD off the white stuff until after a year.

Cow's milk is not recommended as the main drink before 1 year, but can be included in food products. So on that score there is no worry about them.

They are loaded with sugar, however, which is why they go down well. Up to you to decide whether that is an issue or not. Personally i tend to take the attitude of a little every now and then isn't going to do any harm. I used to let my ds have one every other day.

dairy generally OK but Petit Filous are full of sugar (and other stuff) so natural yoghurts (without added sugar) are probably a better bet. My ds loves these Little Dish

I gave mine natural yogurt with some fruit puree or Little Rachels yoghurts at about 6 1/2 months. Agree Petit Filous are full of crap.

I'm with sweetkitty - Little Rachels yoghurts are brilliant - no sugar, no rubbish, just yoghurt and fruit! There are some Rachels yoghurts which do have sugar in though so check the packet. There is only one they do which is sugar-free. It's the only sugar-free, rubbish-free yoghurt that I've found, other than natural yoghurt which is icky and disgusting
